Instructed across all RIBA work stages, this gorgeous renovation project, a stones throw from Fistral beach, has received full planning permission and we are currently working through our technical design stages.
The original 2-bedroom bungalow was bought by a young local family, looking for their forever home. High on the list of their requirements was to increase the living accommodation, but also an important element of their brief was to bring the house up to modern energy efficient standards.
A new second storey with a steep pitched roof provides four family bedrooms, whilst also creating the perfect spot for a large south facing solar array. We worked closely with our clients to reconfigure the existing floor plan, to maximise space and function whilst still retaining as much of the original load bearing structure as possible, in order to reduce renovation costs.
New levels of insulation and a renewable heat pump system will drastically reduce energy bills, futureproofing this family home.
The result is a highly efficient, low running cost, practical family home, and if we do say so ourselves, a beautiful one too.
