Located on a small & steep garden plot in the pretty fishing village of Cadgwith on the Lizard Peninsula, our brief from the clients was to explore options for a new practical home, that would be least impactful on their neighbours.

We secured outline planning permission initially and followed this up with a reserved matters application, ensuring a smooth planning process & approval.

A small yet complex project, the design for Little Trewartha needed to navigate steep contours and a small footprint. We relished the challenge and devised a reverse living two-bedroom dwelling that maximises the space on site.
Timber and render were chosen to tie in with the existing streetscape and soften the overall scale. Principally, a dramatic open plan first floor with a vaulted ceiling allows light to flood the living areas on both floors, whilst also leading seamlessly on to a private courtyard.
Good things come in small packages.
