A short walk across a wild grassy common, set back from the golden sands of Holywell Bay, you’ll find Enfield, a modern designed home which gently acknowledges its rural context.
One of our earliest new build projects, Enfield replaces a cold & damp bungalow which previously occupied the large plot on the edge of Cubert village. The site’s unconstrained nature afforded us an almost blank canvas, with a number of agricultural buildings and farmsteads as a backdrop for inspiration.
Our brief was fourfold, with everyone in this young family having their own wish list to satisfy. Finished in a collection of timber, stone and render, the building is super thermally efficient, utilises ground source heating and a large garden-sited solar array.
The result is an exciting & highly functioning home for a growing family.
The DART team were outstanding from their very first visit to our decrepit bungalow set on a 1.8 acre plot.
Their vision and inspirational ideas from the outset, left us reinvigorated and ready to take on the challenge of our first new build.
Our brief and expectations were exceeded, with differing materials used to create a bold statement that was also sympathetic to its surroundings.
Design changes throughout the build process were supported by the DART team with our thoughts and opinions always being considered.
We have recommended DART to others and feel very fortunate to have had an architect who truly understood what we wanted and made our dream, reality.
